Los Naranjos was voted “course of the year” in the Costa del Sol in 2005 and 2008, so they must be doing something right! It was opened back in 1977 and has been host to tons of competitions including the Spanish Open. On their web site they say that it is ranked as one of the best courses in Spain.
We play the “generous fairways” on Friday, (our final day). It’s a fairly long course with the yellows clocking in a 5,813 metres. I hope you’re looking forward to this one.
Gary Player must have been having a good day when they invited him to design this incredible course set in the peaceful El Paraiso valley. Majestic mountains form an incredible silhouette to the north, while the cool waters of the Med lap away to the south. It’s been around since 1973 and apparently has one of the best championship course layouts on the coast.
We’ll be descending on this gem, en mass on Tuesday morning so prepare for a beautiful first day. John Graham and Viv both decided that this course was so awesome that we’d do it twice. So we’re coming back again on the Thursday 9th June.
Playboy TV UK is headlining the sponsors for the annual VivThomas.com Golf Week in Marbella, Spain this year.
Viv Thomas remarked “We have had a long and mutually rewarding relationship with Playboy TV over the years and I am absolutely delighted to have them on board for this years “VivThomas Masters” Golf Tournament in 2011. Naturally Playboy Golf is an established brand, we value and appreciate their support with their extremely generous sponsorship”.

Many deals have been brokered and relationships strengthened on the fairways of Iberia over the last four years while the tournament has been running. We look forward to another highly enjoyable golf week this summer.
The time has come for us to start planning for next years Golf Masters.
As some of you may remember, it was muted that we have the 2011 event in Spain. With this in mind John Graham has really done his homework and he’s put together what I consider to be a tremendous package for the guys.

There don’t seem to be too many photos from Day 3. If you recall it was a really wet day and Byron and Tom played a ripping game (only coming in an hour behind the team in front of them).
Let’s hope the weather will be better next year!

Jerry very kindly sent us a link to all his photos, if you missed it here you are: http://picasaweb.google.com/jerry.halford/VivThomasMasters2010#
Just to remind you, this was Tuesday 8th June and we played at Quinta da Cima. Weather was getting a little blustery and Sr. Viv Thomas got the longest drive – I’ll prove that in the next post. We headed off to the “Steak on a stone” restaurant later… I’m sure it’ll come back to you as you check out the photos.
